YCN '09 Competition Skype Idea #1
This is a quick idea - I haven't done much stop frame animation outside of a computer screen for quite some time. This is an idea for why Skype is better than a phone - I like the idea of an old 70s phone as the style icon and showing how more can be done by interacting with it by animation. YCN competition '09

MGMT album 'Oracular Spectacular' Design (YIN)
Now I would say that this is good design in terms of the music going with the 'zine feel' of the fold out package. I like the handwritten lyrics, the red theme and the 60s style mini poster. This is New rave in a consumable way. The one thing I really do like about this as a product is the 'Columbia' red CD, this makes it look like an old vinyl.

Information Graphics - Dot Dot Dot Magazine (Yin)
Graphic Design that conveys quantity and information is a chief function of good graphic design. They say a picture says a thousand words - Graphic Design can represent our lives, full stop. I remember owning an old oxford atlas. It still had the USSR listed as a big red mass. This illustrative Graphic Design in DOT DOT DOT magazine 13, shows economic output and time focusing in on the 1930s. I especially like the Automobile production graph. Considering the time and ethos this picture gives an overall view of important economies. This would also result in conflict of some kind. This makes this image especially valuable when looking back.

Illustrative Book (looking at the world), MA work 2008 (Text Section)
Below are Images of part of my MA work posted as a record of it 'existing'. It basically is produced to comment on the world between Feb 07 and Sep 07. The credit crunch is a theme that filtered into my work at this time I also enjoyed playing around with information design. This book was really a mish mash of all of my studies.

New Year Graphic Design Idea (2009)
How would you signify the passing of an old year and the beginning of a new? I like the idea of showing the earth in one position in 2008 and another in 2009, a split second between years and almost an exact position of the earth at this pivotal change. After all the calendar is pretty much based on the orbit of the earth and the moon.
